Design/Methodology/Approach: The primary research question is formulated as follows: Does the European Union play a significant role in shaping cybersecurity? Correspondingly, the hypothesis adopted to address the research question is as follows: The EU takes actions to enhance resilience against cyberattacks. In the initial section of the article, fundamental concepts of cyber security and cyberspace are defined. Subsequently, EU tools, Union legal regulations, as well as the obligations of key entities pertaining to cyber threats are presented. The main part of the article provides a detailed characterization of new and major threats to EU member states Findings: The European Union plays a significant role in shaping European cybersecurity, primarily through legislation and its subordinate institutions, which are intended to prevent and rapidly and effectively respond to emerging and new cyber threats. Practical implications: The study relies on the latest research presented in documents and reports in the field of cybersecurity, published between 2020-2022 by international organizations. Additionally, an analysis is conducted based on recent scholarly articles. Information is also sourced from national legal acts and documents published by European Union authorities. Originality/Value: This article addresses security management issues related to the field of cybersecurity, which constitutes a new challenge in light of the rapid development of technology and emerging cyber threats in cyberspace.

Design/Methodology/Approach: The research question posed is: What impact did the COVID-19 pandemic have on the utilisation of information technologies in enterprises? To address these questions, qualitative methods were employed. A detailed analysis of statistical data, both at national and European Union levels, regarding the utilisation of information technologies in enterprises and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on their operations, was conducted. The research utilised literature analysis, online sources, and an in-depth examination of data from national sources such as the Central Statistical Office (GUS) and Eurostat. Findings: The COVID-19 pandemic had a significant impact on the utilisation of information technologies in companies, affecting their functioning in the virtual space and planned activities. The development of the digital space expanded the capabilities of enterprises, introduced the possibility of remote work, and enabled communication through digital tools. Ensuring information security played a crucial role in the process of management, storage, and data transfer. Practical Implications: The analysis of the collected material demonstrates that the integration of management systems plays an important role in contemporary enterprises. This is a complex process that requires information technology skills, knowledge, and competencies among employees and managerial staff. Therefore, it is important to focus on the needs of seeking and implementing increasingly advanced systems for data collection, transmission, and protection in organisations. Originality/Value: The analysis of the gathered material shows that digitization has become a necessity and an essential source providing access to the latest information. The authors present a multidimensional issue of information security in the process of enterprise management.

The authors in the first part of the study characterize assessment methods indicating their advantages and disadvantages. They point out that achieving significant results depends largely on the motivation of action. Then they determine the factors and instruments that shape the motivation. They point out that employee evaluation can be helpful in many situations, for example when determining the value of wages or appointing employees who deserve promotion. This is a motivating factor. Periodical evaluation of employees and motivation therefore remain in the combination as part of the personnel function. The authors discuss the periodic assessment in the context of motivation on the example of a budget unit. Well, every periodic appraisal in a budgetary unit is an incentive tool for many employees, especially for taking up learning or participating in training. This is important as it should be remembered that work in this unit requires professionalism, competence, knowledge and skills. The importance of the periodic assessment of employees lies primarily in the fact that on the basis of its results, you can apply the incentive system factors.

Next, they specify the subject dimension of the subject's personal security and present the characteristics of the political security of the state, which is a variant of structural security. They present the problems of the modern world, pointing out that they require cooperation of the entire international community, and opportunities for humanity should be seen in the possibilities of social development. They also identify socio-economic problems by stressing the occurrence of hunger and unemployment, civilization and social diseases and present civilizational and cultural problems as well as opportunities and threats resulting from scientific and technical progress as well as threats related to the destruction of the environment. Finally, they point to the threat of terrorism that is important in the modern world, highlighting its deepest causes.
