The study is linked with the concept of convergence, which is one of the key goals of European integration. Convergence is when two or more things, ideas, or processes become similar. In an economic sense, convergence is the reduction of development disparities between countries, regions, or economic sectors. The aim of the work was to study the convergence of labor productivity in Poland's rural economic sectors between 2003 and 2019. Since 2004, when Poland became a member of the European Union, the country has benefited from funds distributed via EU regional policies, aimed at economic and social cohesion, and attaining regional convergence of economic effects in the economies of rural areas. The theoretical background and research methodology of this article are based on the topic's literature. Two forms of convergence (sigma convergence and beta convergence) were analyzed. Sigma convergence means a decrease in the dispersion and differentiation of labor productivity over time, and the essence of beta convergence is the faster development of less-developed regions, which results in catching up with the better-developed regions. The economic results of convergence processes, measured by the gross value added of agriculture, forestry, hunting, and fisheries, as well as the number of employed persons in these sectors, were obtained from the Local Data Bank. The distribution dynamics (of the gross value added per person working in a Polish rural sector) were assessed for 2003-2019 as well as for selected years and sub-periods. Statistical methods describing the state of differentiation of regions and the function of regression were used for analysis. The results are presented in figures and maps. The flows between the productivity groups of regions in five sub-periods were evidenced. The research confirmed the partial occurrence of labor productivity convergence in Poland's rural sectors between 2003 and 2014-the period of a sizable flow of European Funds offered to rural areas in Poland, during the first two European Union financial perspectives. In the following years, the convergence process diminished due to different natural and socioeconomic reasons.

European supprt was compared to the Gross Added Value of agriculture, forestry, hunting and fishery. Materials and methods: The subject literature and statistical data received from the Agricultural Modernization Agency and the Local Data Bank of the Central Statistical Office were used. The empirical data regarding the level of agriculture in regions as well as the data on the resources utilised from the European Union were examined in order to assess the correlation between them and the phenomenon of regional sigma-convergence. Results: The study confirms the sigma convergence of the Gross Value Added per units of funding obtained from the European Union Budget and different level of sigma convergence of GVA / PE in regions. Conclusions: Sigma convergence assessment of the Gross Value Added per person employed in regions shows that in the analyzed period three phases could be distinguished: convergence (2003 - 2008), divergence (2008 - 2010) and stagnation (2010 - 2014). Streszczenie: Przedmiot i cel pracy: Celem pracy jest ocena zjawiska konwergencji sigma produktywności pracy rolnictwa i innych sektorów gospodarki wiejskiej w regionach wojewódzkich w Polsce w latach 2003-2014 w powiązaniu z wykorzystaniem funduszy europejskich przeznaczonych na rozwój rolnictwa i obszarów wiejskich. Rozmiary wsparcia z funduszy europejskich porównano z rozmiarem wartości dodanej brutto rolnictwa, leśnictwa, łowiectwa i rybactwa. Materiał i metody: W analizie wykorzystano literaturę problemu oraz dane Agencji Restrukturyzacji i Modernizacji Rolnictwa oraz Banku Danych Lokalnych GUS. Dane empiryczne o poziomie rozwoju rolnictwa w regionach i dane o wykorzystanych środkach z funduszy europejskich użyto do oceny korelacji między nimi oraz zjawiska konwergencji sigma w układzie regionalnym. Wyniki: Przeprowadzona analiza potwierdziła wystąpienie zjawiska korelacji między wartością dodaną brutto na osobę zatrudnioną a wielkością funduszy otrzymanych w regionach z budżetu Unii Europejskiej i zróżnicowany poziom konwergencji sigma w regionie. Wnioski: Analiza konwergencji sigma regionów w latach 2003 - 2014 między badanymi wielkościami wykazała trzy fazy: konwergencję (2003 - 2008), dywergencję (2008 - 2010) i stagnację (2010 - 2014).

The study specified dimensions of support under the European Funds granted for agriculture and rural areas in individual regions, which were compared to the size of gross added value of agriculture, forestry, hunting and fishery. Within the analysis, data of the Agency for the Restructuring and Modernisation of Agriculture as well as The Local Data Bank of Central Statistical Office were used. Data regarding productivity of agriculture and other rural sectors in the regions as well as data on the used resources from the European funds were availed of in the assessment of the correlation between these expectations and the phenomena of sigma-convergence and beta-convergence in the regional system. The conducted analysis confirmed the occurrence of a phenomenon of convergence in the tested scope.

Streszczenie: Jednym z głównych celów integracji europejskiej jest redukcja dysproporcji rozwojowych określana mianem konwergencji. Konwergencja występuje w dwóch formach jako konwergencja sigma i konwergencja beta. Konwergencja sigma oznacza zmniejszenie z biegiem czasu dyspersji i zróżnicowania, istotą konwergencji beta jest szybszy rozwój regionów czy krajów słabiej rozwiniętych, co skutkuje efektem doganiania. Celem artykułu jest badanie konwergencji poziomu rozwoju sektorów gospodarki wiejskiej w regionach Polski w latach 2003-2014. Wyniki ekonomiczne, w kontekście rozmiaru pozyskanych środków z funduszy europejskich, mierzone wartością dodaną brutto: rolnictwa, leśnictwa, łowiectwa i rybactwa, pozyskano z Banku Danych Lokalnych. Dane o wartości wykorzystanych środków uzyskano z Agencji Restrukturyzacji i Modernizacji Rolnictwa. Do analizy wykorzystano metody statystyczne opisujące stan zróżnicowania regionów oraz funkcję regresji. Badania potwierdziły częściowe wystąpienie zjawiska konwergencji produktywności pracy w sektorach wiejskich polskich regionów i dodatnią korelację wartości dodanej brutto z wysokością pozyskanych środków z funduszy europejskich.

Streszczenie: The aim of the article is a evaluation of productivity labor in rural sectors (agriculture, forestry, hunting, fishing) and comparative this with the use of European funds in Polish regions at the years 2003-2013. Possibility of the convergence sigma and beta related with the amount of funds used from the European Union budget was assumed. Research confirmed results phenomena of convergence in the first years of the analysis (2003-2008) as well as phenomenon of stratification and stabilization in selected group of regions. These suggets that the club convergence may be observed.
