Meeting the expectations of patients with CVD is one of the factors that positively influences their health status and leads to better diagnostic and treatment outcomes. The aim of this study was to answer three main questions related to patients with chronic cardiovascular disease: (1) What is their quality of life? (2) Are patients' expectations about the quality of care provided by primary health care physicians/nurses met (and at what level)? (3) Is there a correlation between patients' quality of life and their expectations of primary health care physicians/nurses? The study involved 193 Polish CVD patients who were cared for at home by a family nurse practitioner working in primary health care facilities. Data were collected from March 2016 to January 2017. The WHOQOL-BREF Quality of Life Questionnaire and the Author Interview Questionnaire were used for the study. Data analysis was based on the Spearman correlation coefficient test. There was a statistically significant association between patients' expectations of the physician regarding information about the course of the disease and quality of life in the following domains: environmental r = 0.20, p = 0.006, psychological: r = 0.18, p = 0.015, physical: r = 0.18, p = 0.013, and social: r = 0.16, p = 0.025. Patients who did not expect the nurse to be courteous, understanding, or interested were found to have higher quality of life scores in psychological (r = -0.17, p = 0.023) and physical (r = -0.15, p = 0.044) domains. There was a statistically significant relationship between expectations of care from nurses regarding intimacy during care activities and the level of satisfaction with one's own health (r = -0.15, p = 0.038) and quality of life (r = -0.14, p = 0.045), as well as quality of life in the domains of physical (r = 0.21, p = 0.004), social (r = 0.19, p = 0.010), and psychological (r = 0.16, p = 0.024). There is a need to define the expectations of patients with chronic cardiovascular disease in primary care, as lack of expectations of a physician/nurse continues to be associated with lower quality of life in all domains.

The paper presents also respondents' opinions on particularly desirable values of potential employers. Materials and methods: The research was carried out using the CAWI method in January 2021. It covered 108 students of Economics at bachelor's degree and master's degree studies. Results: The values that most respondents expect from their future employers include attractive remuneration, the stability of employment, a promotion prospect and the friendly workplace atmosphere. The least significant values include work in a big city, work in a convenient location and the opportunity to work in an international environment. Students of older years would find it easier to cope with work at a high pace and under the pressure of time. The need to perform imitative work and focus only on the narrow scope of duties in their work would not be a serious problem for participants of the research. Conclusions: Students of Economics at the State School of Higher Education in Biała Podlaska will engage in their work and perform it to the best of their abilities if they are adequately remunerated and given the possibility of further professional development and the atmosphere and conditions of work are good and comfortable. Streszczenie: Przedmiot i cel pracy: Celem artykułu jest określenie oczekiwań zawodowych studentów kierunku Ekonomia PSW w Białej Podlaskiej. Artykuł prezentuje także, opinie respondentów na temat szczególnie pożądanych wartości u potencjalnych pracodawców. Materiały i metody: Badania zostały zrealizowane przy wykorzystaniu metody CAWI w styczniu 2021 roku. Wzięło w nich udział 108 studentów kierunku Ekonomia ze studiów pierwszego i drugiego stopnia. Wyniki: Większość respondentów oczekuje od swoich przyszłych pracodawców na: atrakcyjne wynagrodzenie, stabilność zatrudnienia, możliwość awansu oraz przyjazną atmosferę w miejscu pracy. Najmniej znaczącymi wartościami okazały się: praca w dużym mieście, praca w dogodnej lokalizacji oraz możliwość pracy w międzynarodowym środowisku. Pracę w dużym tempie i pod presją czasu lepiej znieśliby studenci ze starszych roczników. Konieczność wykonywania pracy odtwórczej i skupiania się w pracy jedynie na wąskim zakresie obowiązków nie byłaby znaczącym problemem dla uczestników badań. Wnioski: Studenci kierunku Ekonomia PSW w Białej Podlaskiej zaangażują się w pracę, wykonają ją najlepiej jak potrafią, jeśli będą odpowiednio wynagradzani, zyskają możliwość dalszego rozwoju zawodowego, a atmosfera i warunki pracy będą dobre i komfortowe.

https://library.iated.org/view/DABROWSKA2018DEV DOI: 10.21125/edulearn.2018.1047 Streszczenie: The present-day social trends, phenomena and experiences, i.e. technological expansion, widely assessable educational systems or the inevitability of lifelong learning imply that education remains a necessity and its role in the future is likely to increase even further. Despite various complaints about the deepening degree devaluation or lifetime employment coming under pressure due to changing markets, there seems to be no perceived shortfall in students' aspirations for acquiring degrees worldwide. Also in Poland higher educational institutions appear to do well conversely to a drastic decline in the numbers of the young people's generation. As recent estimations indicate, many young Poles have started their higher education or intend to enter universities, and their numbers are the highest in the OECD countries. Also, the Central Statistical Office in Poland (GUS) reports confirm that the percentage of those with higher education degrees has reached its new peak in the present decade. The dissemination of higher education is undoubtedly a positive phenomenon as it is directly linked to improving one's social position. As numerous analyses show, education is still associated with better well-being, including life expectancy, better standards of living or professional prospects. Also, young peoples' plans and choices may testify to the attractiveness of entering colleges and universities. The view is shared by all socio-demographic groups in Poland as the desire to develop their competencies seem to be evenly spaced in the Polish society. Likewise, groups from lower socioeconomic status backgrounds inhibiting small towns or rural areas share the global aspirations concerning education and the numbers of the present, and prospective students remain high. The following article attempts to analyse the expectations of one such group entering the first and second cycle courses in PSW in Biala Podlaska, Poland, concerning possibilities of transition into the labour market or acquiring practical skills. It analyses the economic income in their households as well as other socioeconomic aspects such as the number of persons in the family, including those employed. The study sample involved 574 first-year entrees, out of all 975 enrolled students as of October 2017. Its findings are based on questionnaire no. 33, which is part of The PSW Internal System for Ensuring the Quality of Education assessment tools. To do the computation, programme Statistica 10 was applied, whereas to determine statistically significant relationships between the variables we used the Chi-square test. The study attempts to determine how different social competencies acquired while studying impact on students' personal development. Further, it assesses whether the diversification of the university's educational offer meets the expectations of the first-year students. Streszczenie: Placebo is an interdisciplinary phenomenon currently defined as inactive pharmacological substance or procedurę which has no healing qualities. Despite the lack of such qualities using placebo gives positive results in the living organism. Patients, who take it report improvement in their health, lesser pain and shortening of the illness period. This article presents current knowledge about the properties, control mechanisms and results of using placebo.
