Unfortunately, the latter aspect i lacking in children in foster care (especially in institutional care). The researchers and analyses af analyzed phenomenon allow to conclude that children in foster care are often a neglected group in terms of upbringing, education, personal models, values and life priorities. Foster care should be and educational environment designed to compensate for deficiencies in the care, upbringing, or education of the child entrusted to it, including gifted children. The aim of the research was to identify factors that may affect the development of the pupils talents. The research was conducted from April to December 2018 - not only the interests of foster care pupils were examined but also the specificity of gifted children functioning in foster environments was determined. Data was collection in two phases. In the first phase (survey) a questionnaire for pupils (10 years and older), document analysis and interview with the principals of the facility were used. In the second phase, on the basis of psychopedagogical criteria, i.e. parental nominations (in this case nominations of educators); autonominations; participation in competitions or contests; possessed interests and their development, cases of gifted wards were selected. Therefore, qualitative interviews were conducted in order to acquire some information about them.
