The objective of this study was to determine the effect of an application of the following biostimulants: PlonoStart, Aminoplant, and Agro-Sorb Folium, and the herbicide Avatar 293 ZC on total carotenoids in table potato tubers. The research material consisted of tubers of two table potato cultivars, Oberon and Malaga, which were produced in a 3-year field experiment. Chemical analyses of fresh material were conducted 4-6 days following harvest. Biostimulants applied with the herbicide significantly increased the table potato tuber content of carotenoids compared to tubers obtained from unamended control plots. The highest accumulation of carotenoids was determined following an application of the biostimulant Agro-Sorb Folium, and it was higher in the tubers of cv. Oberon versus cv. Malaga. It should be added that in the available literature there is no research on the effect of biostimulants on the content of carotenoids in potato, which is the main food in the world. Carotenoids perform many important functions in the human body. They exhibit antioxidant properties, which means that they protect cells from damage, and also have a beneficial effect on the immune system. Carotenoids are substances that show an indispensable effect on the health and appearance of the skin. Regular consumption of them in the form of vegetables and fruits ensures its firmness, elasticity, smoothness, as well as a healthy appearance. The protective function of carotenoids against free radicals simultaneously contributes to slowing down the aging process. This action, in turn, translates into preventing the development of cancer or diseases of the circulatory system.

Trzyletnie doświadczenie polowe założono w trzech powtórzeniach, metodą losowanych podbloków w układzie split-plot na glebie bardzo lekkiej i lekkiej. Badano dwa czynniki doświadczenia: czynnik I rzędu odmiany ziemniaka: Bartek, Gawin, Honorata, czynnikiem II rzędu pięć sposobów pielęgnacji: obiekt kontrolny- pielęgnacja mechaniczna, Harrier 295 ZC (linuron + clomazone), Harrier 295 ZC i Kelpak SL (linuron + clomazone i ekstrakt z alg), Sencor 70 WG (metribuzin) oraz Sencor 70 WG i Asahi SL (metribuzin i sodium p-nitrophenole, sodium o-nitrophenole, sodium 5-nitroguolacolate). Streszczenie: The aim of the study was to evaluate the infestation of Rhizoctonia solani potato tubers depending on the herbicides and herbicides with biostimulants used. In the experiment, two factors were examined: the first order factor were potato cultivars: 'Bartek', 'Gawin', 'Honorata', while the second order factor was five ways of using herbicides and herbicides with biostimulators: control object - mechanical care, Harrier 295 ZC (linuron + clomazone), Harrier 295 ZC and Kelpak SL (linuron + clomazone and extract from algae), Sencor 70 WG (metribuzin) and Sencor 70 WG andAsahi SL (metribuzin and sodium p-nitrophenole, sodium o-nitrophenole, sodium 5-nitroguolacolate). The assessment of tuber rhizoctoniosis from individual experimental objects was performed using a 9-point scale. The herbicides and herbicides with biostimulators used in potato cultivation reduced the occurrence of pox on tubers and the average degree of infection of the sample and the average degree of infection tubers. The weather conditions differed between the growing seasons and influ-enced the intensity of tuber black scurf.

The three-year field experiment was carried out using the random two-way split-plot arrangement in three repetitions. The examined factors were: I-three cultivars of potato: Bartek, Gawin, Honorata; II-five method applications of herbicides and herbicides with biostimulants: 1. Control-mechanical weeding, 2. Harrier 295 ZC (linuron + clomazone), 3. Harrier 295 ZC + Kelpak SL (linuron + clomazone and extract from algae Ecklonia maxima), 4. Sencor 70 WG (metribuzin), 5. Sencor 70 WG + Asahi SL (metribuzin and sodium p-nitrophenolate, sodium o-nitrophenolate, sodium 5-nitroguolacolate). On the plots sprayed with herbicides and herbicides mixed with biostimulants, a significant increase in the content of total and true proteins and the share of true protein in total protein in relation to tubers harvested from the control object was found. Genetic features of cultivars determined the content of total and true protein in potato tubers. The highest total and true protein was accumulated by tubers of the Bartek cultivar, and the least by the Honorata cultivar.

The experiment was established on light loamy soil which belonged to a very good rye complex. The experiment was designed in a two-factor split-plot pattern with three replicates. The factors examined in the experiment included three cultivars of edible potatoes: Cekin, Satina, Tajfun, and five weed control methods: application of the following herbicides (mixed or alone) Command 480 EC, Command 480 EC and Dispersive Afalon 450 SC, Stomp 400 SC, Stomp 400 SC and Dispersive Afalon 450 SC, while the control consisted of mechanical weeding without chemical protection. The aim was to determine the influence of selected herbicides and their combinations (Command 480 EC, Command 480 EC and Dispersive Afalon 450 SC, Stomp 400 SC, Stomp 400 SC and Dispersive Afalon 450 SC) on the content of copper, zinc and manganese in three potato cultivars. Potato tubers were harvested at full maturity. Samples of potato tubers for chemical analyses were taken from plots during harvest. Microelements in the dry matter of potato tubers were determined by the AAS method. The content of copper was significantly dependent on the cultivars, weed control methods and weather conditions during the growing season. In contrast, concentrations of depended on the cultivars and meteorological conditions, whereas the content of manganese in potato tubers was strongly conditioned by genetic traits of the cultivars.
