Nothing motivates a child to learn physics or chemistry more than experimentation. Supervised by their teachers, using safe reagents, chemical glass, and other equipment required to conduct experiments, "Little Scientists" discover the laws of physics and chemistry. Experimenting favors a search for answers to the most basic questions; it helps children see the magic of science and discover the secrets of the world around them. Contrary to the common opinion, holding that physical or chemical experiments may be introduced at the beginning of primary school at the earliest, preschool-age children are already prepared for such activities. The article presents a chemical experiment concerning sugar detection conducted by 6-year-olds. Research was performed to determine whether making chemical experiments has an impact on the level of children's knowledge about sugars. The study included 20 children who carried out chemical experiments in four parallel groups. The level of knowledge was tested twice: first prior to the experiment and then following the experiment. The analysis of the data obtained demonstrated that after the experiment the level of children's knowledge about sugars increased significantly, as evidenced by the t-Student Test outcomes.

Celem artykułu jest analiza potrzeb edukacyjnych studentów wybierających kierunki studiów w obszaru nauk społecznych. W grupie badawczej liczącej 268 studentów zbadano zapotrzebowanie na kompetencje, preferencje oraz motywy wyboru uczelni i kierunku studiów, w tym istnienie zależności istotnych statystycznie analizowanych zmiennych. Efektem badań jest wykazanie różnic pomiędzy kierunkami studiów we wskazanych obszarach. Streszczenie: The School of Higher Education provides education safety by meeting students' academic, professional and personal aspirations. this article aims to analyze the educational needs of students choosing courses of study in the social aciences. The research group numbering 268 students were tested to find out their skills needs, preferences and reason for choosing the university and faculty, including a relationship variables considered statistically significant. The result of the research is to demonstrate the differences between faculties in social sciences.

Streszczenie: The purpose of this paper is to discuss the competences of six-year-olds in the context of school readiness. Teachers, owing to the preschool assessment, are able to evaluate the level of mastery of particular skills, namely what children have achieved, what they know, what they can do, and what they have difficulties with. Kindergarten creates favourable conditions and provides opportunities which stimulate the development of children. Thus, a child systematically acquires competences which are necessary in order to start learning at primary school. Providing information about children, preschool assessment is a useful tool not only for teachers but also for parents.
