A high sports score is composed of many factors that determine the final result. It is difficult to state clearly which of them are the most important ones. However, it can be said that a right human material is necessary for success in sport. At the same time players with specific predispositions and highly qualified trainers, who together with their mentees aim at a specific goal to a certain degree, are needed. Researchers have already dealt with the designation of the most important predictors of sporting success in the last century. The process of determining the gradation of factors is extremely difficult and complicated. Nevertheless, it is the player's relationship with the coach that seems to be one of the most important aspects in the training process. Hence, the purpose of the work is to try to describe recruitment processes for the position of a trainer in Poland. Referring to the hypotheses and research questions, the authors showed some premises that might affect the selection of trainers in sport. Moreover, they might have some impact on the position of Polish sports disciplines in world rankings.

Materiał i metody: Do badań przystąpiło 130 osób (65 osób trenujących oraz 65 osób nie trenujących wyczynowo). Grupa badana to osoby uprawiające sport wyczynowo - reprezentanci różnych dyscyplin; grupa kontrolna - osoby niemające styczności ze sportem wyczynowym, prowadzące mało aktywny tryb życia. Poddano analizie opinie respondentów przy pomocy autorskiego kwestionariusza ankiety. Użyto pięciostopniowej skali Likerta. Wyniki: Wyczynowe uprawianie sportu wpływa na pozytywną samoocenę własnego stanu zdrowia. Osoby trenujące posiadają szerszą wiedzę dotyczącą zdrowego stylu życia, niż nie sportowcy. Wykazują oni również większą dbałość o zdrowie podejmując w codziennym życiu zachowania sprzyjające zdrowiu (zdrowe odżywianie, profilaktykę) i unikają zachowań zagrażających zdrowiu (alkoholu, nikotyny oraz innych używek). han half of the people with disabilities from the eastern regions of Poland participate in sports-recreational activities, with the largest number of respondents with a mild degree of disability. The majority of respondents approach their participation in sports-recreational activities not simply as a form of therapeutic rehabilitation. Respondents most frequently participated in walks, marches, and rehabilitation gymnastics. The largest percentage of respondents had never participated in hydrobics, horseback riding, hippotherapy, and swimming. A considerable number of the respondents would like to participate in - apart from walks, marches, and rehabilitation gymnastics - team games and swimming. According to the respondents' opinions, forms of sports-recreational activities that are most recommended with respect to the degree and type of disability are: rehabilitation gymnastics, walks, marches, and swimming. Due to the participation in sports-recreational and tourism activities, those with disabilities have a good general well being, their state of health improves, they make new acquaintances and social contacts, make new friends, and elevate their physical efficacy and endurance. The respondents also indicated a change from sedentary lifestyle as well as satisfaction from overcoming both imperfections of own body and anxiety resulting from disability.^aKubińska, Zofia^cy^asport^asport^aBergier, Józef^cy^aaktywność fizyczna^arecreational activity^arekreacja ruchowa^aeastern regions of Poland^aPolska Wschodnia

A total number of 750 were examined. The representative group was selected by the stratified random sampling method. The study was conducted by the method of a diagnostic survey. Research material was collected by means of mutually supplementary research techniques: questionnaire, interview, observation, and analysis of documentation. A detailed analysis of the results obtained allowed the presumption that more than half of the people with disabilities from the eastern regions of Poland participate in sports-recreational activities, with the largest number of respondents with a mild degree of disability.
