Streszczenie: The aim of the article is to show the specificity of the organization of places such as cemeteries on the example of this type of facilities in the city of Bydgoszcz. Design/Methodology/Approach: The selection of this local government was deliberate. The research methods used by the authors in the work included: a study of the subject literature, an analysis of legal acts of various importance, a case study and the method of individual cases (collecting multi-faceted information regarding the studied case and then using it in the diagnosis of the studied phenomenon). Findings: In the course of the research, the authors identified the main problems related to management in cemeteries, while cataloguing the activities that the facility administrator is obliged to perform. It also enabled the identification of costs and the determination of the "potential supply and demand for burial sites" by indicating the number of births and deaths. Practical implications: Bydgoszcz is the first city in Poland to have tested e-Payments in relation to the provision of public services. Since July 28, the Ministry of Digitization has been testing pilot e-Payments in the mObywatel mobile application. In relation to the current situation, this applies to the payment of property tax instalments. If the system should be assessed positively and turns out to be effective, other payments are to be implemented successively. Moreover, from October 1, 2020, pursuant to the agreement of the parties between the City of Bydgoszcz and Przedsiębiorstwo Zieleń Miejska Sp. z o. o. (City Greenery Company, Ltd.), the previous administrator of municipal cemeteries - the City - took over municipal cemeteries for independent administration. Therefore, the identification of costs and their determinants can be used by local authorities to determine fees for the provision of public services in the field of cemetery. Originality/Value: The authors present the possibilities of organizing burial places and the potential costs associated with its implementation. This will allow for rationalization of expenses related to this service, both for the relatives of the deceased person and for the local government unit. Land is of limited nature and therefore its management is becoming more and more expensive.

Streszczenie: The aim of this article is to demonstrate the significance of remote work and learning as tools that reflect the effectiveness of human capital. Design/Methodology/Approach: The research aimed to assess the effectiveness of remote work and learning compared to traditional methods. A survey was conducted in 2022 among a group of 499 students from the Warsaw School of Management. The survey included students from all fields of study. The empirical research was pilot in nature and provides a basis for continuing research in this area, drawing conclusions and formulating recommendations for both employers and the academic community. Findings: The generated conclusions will enable a thorough analysis of key problems in the context of improving solutions and practices implemented in remote work and learning processes as key determinants of the growth of human capital effectiveness in contemporary enterprises. Practical implications: The article identifies the actions, threats, and challenges facing employers in the area of utilizing and increasing the effectiveness of human capital, which is a strategic factor of contemporary enterprises, particularly evident in crisis situations that increasingly affect organizations worldwide for various reasons (pandemics, wars, etc.). Originality/Value: The authors present remote work and learning as modern and effective tools for increasing the effectiveness of human capital in contemporary enterprises, requiring many actions and far-reaching changes that bring undeniable benefits in the work environment. Until the pandemic and in the face of the war in Ukraine, remote work and learning were not used on such a large scale. According to the authors, they have become commonly used tools, which requires further research.

Streszczenie: Employment and the competencies of employees in the energy sector are coming into particular prominence in economies around the world. It is one of the few sectors positively affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, a significant global change in the awareness of society occurred in favor of increasing pro-health and pro-environmental activities, which can be seen in the green transformation. Poland can also boast such changes in recent years, as evidenced by the dynamic development of renewable energy sources (boom for photovoltaics) and the increase in prosumption. Correlated with this is the increase in demand for employees with specific competencies, the so-called multi-competencies that are a compilation of technical, business, and soft and hard competencies, as well as interdisciplinary ones. The paper emphasizes the need to better adjust the education system to the real needs of the labor market in a turbulent environment with the use of the Sectoral Qualifications Framework in Energy, developed in cooperation with stakeholders from the industry. Therefore, the authors analyzed the employment structure in the energy sector in Poland, with particular emphasis on the factors and conditions of this structure and made an attempt to identify and create a competency profile of employees in this area. For the purposes of this article, two key research problems were formulated: What are the key competencies of employees in the energy sector? How is employment changing in this area? The following research hypothesis was also put forward: The transformation of the energy sector towards green energy affects the increase in employment in this area and the increase in the demand for soft competencies. The analysis was based on statistical data, reports, job advertisements, and a review of the results of empirical research to date.

Streszczenie: The aim of this article is to show the importance and necessity of improving the quality of human capital in the aspect of increasing the level of innovation in rural areas. The key problem is, first of all, waste of human capital and difficulties in shaping awareness and desirable attitudes among residents of rural areas. The desk research method was used for the analysis. Human capital and innovations form a network of interrelationships and dependencies, and the conducted research and analyses aimed at better recognition of said dependencies allow to formulate and direct further research. The development of human capital and care for its quality as well as the associated increase in innovation of rural areas is the primary goal of EU member states' policies. This can be seen in various newer and newer solutions and implemented projects as well as the number of institutions participating in their implementation. More and more attention is paid to the needs and problems of various social groups in rural areas, e.g. senior farmers, where effective use of the potential of this group is becoming a challenge in the face of an aging population. As part of improving the quality of human capital and the innovativeness of rural areas, not only financial assistance but also widely-developed advice is available. There is a need to deepen research in order to clarify the correlation between the quality of human capital and the innovativeness of rural areas, including the search for newsupport instruments.
