The presence of this complication is associated with a significant increase in mortality and a deterioration in the clinical condition of the patients resulting in a longer hospitalization time and more severe rehabilitation, which translates into worse functional status. Objective: The aim of the study is to analyze the causes and consequences of development of pneumonia in early poststroke rehabilitation and to indicate the need for modification of rehabilitation methods at the onset of infection. Description of the state of knowledge: In the literature describing infections found in neurological departments and intensive care, the concept of Stroke-associated pneumonia (SAP) is believed to be associated with pneumonia. Risk factors in this situation are disturbances of consciousness and dysphagia, and it is assumed that this condition is associated with abnormal dopamine transmission in patients after extensive stroke. Conclusions: In the early post-stroke period, there are numerous predictors of pneumonia: dysphagia, decrease in P levels, cough reflex, adverse bacterial flora development, postprandial immunodepression, mechanical ventilation and hypokinesia, which allow early identification of patients particularly at risk. the risk of disease development and the use of appropriate measures. se functional status. The study involved 333 female students of Ternopil State Medical University and 409 schoolgirls of Ternopil, western Ukraine. The International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ-L) was used as a research method. BMI and physical activity self-assessment rates were also considered. Results. The surveyed female students of Ternopil State Medical University and schoolgirls of Ternopil (western Ukraine) demonstrate a high level of total physical activity. Most of the surveyed female students (71.1%) and pupils (59.4%) had normal body weight. An integral component of a healthy lifestyle is an appropriate level of physical activity. Material and methods: 646 students of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil State Medical University, Western Ukraine took part in the study. We observed male and female third year students of the Faculty of Medicine for our research. Metabolic cost for each type of physical activity was estimated in MET. The International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) in full version was used as a research method. Results: Male students had a higher level of total physical activity compared to female students. Both female and male students had the highest level of metabolic energy consumption doing sports activities and the lowest doing housework. Female and male second year students had the highest level of total physical activity and physical activity during work compared to the students of first and third years of study. Conclusions: Male students had a higher level of total physical activity compared to female students.
