Design/Methodology/Approach: The research problem was formulated as follows: What role does the CISO play in ensuring information security within an organization? To address this research problem, appropriate research methods were employed, such as literature analysis, both domestic and foreign, about information security, ISO 27000 standards, the role of the CISO, and information security threats. This method facilitated understanding existing theories, research frameworks, and practices in the field of information security, as well as the analysis of documents and reports containing current research, data, and information, enabling an understanding of practices and standards applicable in a given organization or sector. Findings: The process of developing, implementing, maintaining, improving, and auditing the quality management system impacts the security level of the organization. Consequently, it serves as a modern tool focused on instilling organizational order in the company, encompassing both the structure and creativity of all employees. Practical implications: The article addresses the topic of information security, emphasizing its significance in today's digital world, where data is a critical asset for organizations, and it focuses on the ISO 27000 standard, which is one of the most important standards related to information security management. It discusses its main assumptions, scope, and benefits resulting from its implementation. Another aspect addressed is the role of the CISO (Chief Information Security Officer) in the organization. The authors analyze the tasks, responsibilities, and expectations placed on the individual fulfilling this role. They explain that the CISO is a key player in ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of data within the organization, while also being a leader in the field of information security. The article also discusses the threats that CISOs must contend with in their work, encompassing both technical threats and those associated with human factors, such as lack of employee awareness regarding information security or neglect in security policies and procedures. The authors emphasize that the role of the CISO is becoming increasingly strategic in ensuring information security in organizations. Originality/Value: The authors accentuate in this article the fact that organizations must provide adequate support for their CISO and enable access to appropriate resources, including financial and human resources, to effectively fulfill their duties. Furthermore, they emphasize that continued research in the field of information security management is crucial because cyber threats are constantly evolving, and organizations must stay updated with the latest methods and tools for data protection. Design/Methodology/Approach: The article addresses various aspects of cybersecurity, referencing statistical data related to ICT security in enterprises as well as incidents occurring in businesses both in Poland and the EU. Analysis of incident data facilitated determining the impact of cyber threats on organizational security and operations. The research problem was formulated as: How can proper cybersecurity management in an organization influence its functioning? Corresponding to the research problem, the following hypothesis was adopted: Proper cybersecurity management in an organization enhances its operational efficiency. Verification of the hypothesis and obtaining answers to the posed questions required the application of research methods. For the research, literature analysis, the examination of legal acts concerning cybersecurity, and a detailed analysis of data from national and international reports in the studied area were utilized. The authors also considered their existing knowledge in this field. Findings: Cybersecurity management is a crucial element of contemporary organizational functioning. Organizations that do not take action in cybersecurity expose themselves not only to the risk of financial losses or reputation damage but even to the cessation of operations. Practical Implications: Cybersecurity needs to be approached systematically. It is extremely important to engage in cooperation and utilize solutions from entities that provide us with an adequate level of cybersecurity. Originality/Value: In this study, the authors presented the legal regulations of Poland and the European Union in the field of cybersecurity, described aspects of cybersecurity management, and presented the roles of cybersecurity management in the functioning of contemporary organizations. The authors also outlined principles that can help in managing cyber risk in modern enterprises.

Design/Methodology/Approach: The primary research question is formulated as follows: Does the European Union play a significant role in shaping cybersecurity? Correspondingly, the hypothesis adopted to address the research question is as follows: The EU takes actions to enhance resilience against cyberattacks. In the initial section of the article, fundamental concepts of cyber security and cyberspace are defined. Subsequently, EU tools, Union legal regulations, as well as the obligations of key entities pertaining to cyber threats are presented. The main part of the article provides a detailed characterization of new and major threats to EU member states Findings: The European Union plays a significant role in shaping European cybersecurity, primarily through legislation and its subordinate institutions, which are intended to prevent and rapidly and effectively respond to emerging and new cyber threats. Practical implications: The study relies on the latest research presented in documents and reports in the field of cybersecurity, published between 2020-2022 by international organizations. Additionally, an analysis is conducted based on recent scholarly articles. Information is also sourced from national legal acts and documents published by European Union authorities. Originality/Value: This article addresses security management issues related to the field of cybersecurity, which constitutes a new challenge in light of the rapid development of technology and emerging cyber threats in cyberspace.

Design/Methodology/Approach: The research question posed is: What impact did the COVID-19 pandemic have on the utilisation of information technologies in enterprises? To address these questions, qualitative methods were employed. A detailed analysis of statistical data, both at national and European Union levels, regarding the utilisation of information technologies in enterprises and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on their operations, was conducted. The research utilised literature analysis, online sources, and an in-depth examination of data from national sources such as the Central Statistical Office (GUS) and Eurostat. Findings: The COVID-19 pandemic had a significant impact on the utilisation of information technologies in companies, affecting their functioning in the virtual space and planned activities. The development of the digital space expanded the capabilities of enterprises, introduced the possibility of remote work, and enabled communication through digital tools. Ensuring information security played a crucial role in the process of management, storage, and data transfer. Practical Implications: The analysis of the collected material demonstrates that the integration of management systems plays an important role in contemporary enterprises. This is a complex process that requires information technology skills, knowledge, and competencies among employees and managerial staff. Therefore, it is important to focus on the needs of seeking and implementing increasingly advanced systems for data collection, transmission, and protection in organisations. Originality/Value: The analysis of the gathered material shows that digitization has become a necessity and an essential source providing access to the latest information. The authors present a multidimensional issue of information security in the process of enterprise management.

The authors in the first part of the study characterize assessment methods indicating their advantages and disadvantages. They point out that achieving significant results depends largely on the motivation of action. Then they determine the factors and instruments that shape the motivation. They point out that employee evaluation can be helpful in many situations, for example when determining the value of wages or appointing employees who deserve promotion. This is a motivating factor. Periodical evaluation of employees and motivation therefore remain in the combination as part of the personnel function. The authors discuss the periodic assessment in the context of motivation on the example of a budget unit. Well, every periodic appraisal in a budgetary unit is an incentive tool for many employees, especially for taking up learning or participating in training. This is important as it should be remembered that work in this unit requires professionalism, competence, knowledge and skills. The importance of the periodic assessment of employees lies primarily in the fact that on the basis of its results, you can apply the incentive system factors.

Next, they specify the subject dimension of the subject's personal security and present the characteristics of the political security of the state, which is a variant of structural security. They present the problems of the modern world, pointing out that they require cooperation of the entire international community, and opportunities for humanity should be seen in the possibilities of social development. They also identify socio-economic problems by stressing the occurrence of hunger and unemployment, civilization and social diseases and present civilizational and cultural problems as well as opportunities and threats resulting from scientific and technical progress as well as threats related to the destruction of the environment. Finally, they point to the threat of terrorism that is important in the modern world, highlighting its deepest causes.
