In the part focusing on information and definitions, the premises for the emergence of the issue of the greening of economic processes as a new phenomenon of contemporary development have been presented, as well as various definitions of green economy, green growth, the principles of implementing green economy and the implementation of green transformation processes. Presented concepts and ways of defining them are often critisised due to the high flexibility and difficulty of delimitation and measuring. Streszczenie: Celem pracy jest przedstawienie pojęcia zielonej gospodarki i innych pojęć i koncepcji z nią powiązanych oraz dokonanie oceny ich znaczenia dla kształtowania polityki rozwojowej i praktycznego rozwiązywania problemów rozwoju społeczno-gospodarczego. W części informacyjno-definicyjnej zaprezentowano przesłanki pojawienia się problematyki zazielenienia procesów gospodarczych jako nowego zjawiska współczesnego rozwoju, a także przedstawiono różne definicje zielonej gospodarki, zielonego wzrostu, zasady wdrażania zielonej gospodarki i realizacji procesów zielonej transformacji. Przedstawienie pojęcia i sposoby definiowania cechują się dużą elastycznością, sprawiają trudności w ich rozgraniczeniu i pomiary często są przedmiotem krytyki. Istnieje wiele sposobów pomiaru i ciągle trwają poszukiwania nowych mierników i wskaźników.

Its purpose is to present the impact of inflation processes on economic growth as well as to formulate the relationship between these two basic economic categories. Design/Methodology/Approach: Secondary information sources were used in the study, mainly economic reports, available literature on the subject, statistical data retrieved from the Polish Central Statistical Office (GUS), as well as EUROSTAT statistical information. Published sources were analysed and reviewed using a descriptive approach. Statistical data was analysed by means of the Pearson linear correlation coefficient and the linear and polynomial trend model. Findings: Statistical analysis confirmed the existence of a moderate relationship between the inflation rate and the economic growth index. The relationship is inverse, i.e. the higher the inflation rate, the lower the economic growth index. Practical Implications: A low inflation rate has a long-term positive impact on the rate of economic growth, vindicating the choice of price stabilisation as a goal of monetary policy. Originality/Value: The analysis of macroeconomic phenomena in the post-pandemic period seems to be necessary to explain the course of current economic processes. The lockdown has weakened national economies, but the relationship between inflation and economic growth has not changed its nature. Therefore, it seems justified to continue research on such relationships.

One of such events was the European Football Championship held in Poland in 2012. The number of foreign tourists arriving in 2012, compared to the year 2011, showed a significant increase in visits by 1,5 million, including 650 thousand coming exclusively for the occasion to watch the European Championships in 2012. This dynamic growth of arrivals continued in the years 2012-2015 and increased by more than 3 million persons when compared to the figures recorded in the year 2011. The dynamics of the provided accommodation and the number of one-day stays in Poland was also visible. What is more, the average expenditure of foreign tourists per person reached a record high in the year 2012 and amounted to USD 462. Also, the amount of money spent per day increased in the year 2012 by USD 82 and, in successive years, was even higher - USD 101 in the year 2013 and USD 95 in 2014. The presented data show that the organisation of European Championship in football in Poland in 2012 was an excellent opportunity to develop the Polish economy. Accordingly, it might be said that top-level sports competitions are also a chance to meet football fans from many different countries as well as start new economic endeavours
