Streszczenie: Bearing in mind the proper development of a young person, attention should be paid to shaping certain habits related to physical activity during childhood. The child's physical activity influences various parameters of his health, both today and in the future. In connection with the implementation of joint research between partner universities: Lesya Ukrainka Eastern European National University and Pope John Paul II State School of Higher Education in Biala Podlaska, Poland there was examined the level of physical activity of children aged 5-6 within one day including factors such as: age, sex, participation in sections in kindergarten and their leisure time. 250 children from kindergartens in Lutsk took part in the research. The research results showed that the majority of children show low activity, which may adversely affect their health. Therefore, there is a necessity to organize various kinds of physical activity classes for children, both in the family and in kindergarten.

Streszczenie: Taking into consideration the psycho-physical development of a young person, especially a child during the pre-school period, it is crucial to recognise children's abilities connected with their cognitive development which will play a significant role in the school education process as well as in adult life. In the cognitive area, child's intellectual potential is of great importance as it determines child's abilities to quick perception, attention focus and imagination. Perception is the ability to recognise what is seen, heard, touched, felt and what smells and tastes. Appropriate perception is one of the most necessary elements thanks to which a child is capable of acquiring new knowledge, developing the language, gaining the sense of orientation in the surroundings. Simple cognitive activities - impressions and perception, which provide information about stimuli directly affecting the organs of the senses, enable the child elementary orientation. Perception is the foundation of learning in primary school. Disturbances in perceptual function are the foundation of serious causes leading to learning difficulties in school education - recognising letters, numbers or symbols. The time of perception reaction is also of great importance. That is why, it is significant to recognise disorders as fast as possible and start improvement, and even therapy. If a child starts education with a limited ability both to receive stimuli correctly and select them, and his/her difficulties are not recognised and eliminated, then a child's further development may be disturbed. Child's activity and creative attitude towards tasks may be inhibited. A child may become passive and not attempt to undertake the tasks connected with learning or may compensate for the difficulties in an inappropriate for him/her way. In connection with the aforementioned, it seems to be right and justified to undertake research related to perception among children aged 5-7, attending kindergartens in one of the average size cities in Poland. Measurement research was conducted in Psychomotor Laboratory in Biała Podlaska using the appropriate measurement device: Eye Tracking Glasses. This measurement device, thanks to a special measurement system, tracks, records and analyses which picture, in which order and at what pace an examined person looks at. The research conducted with the use of this tool allows to identify areas attention is focused on and points out omitted and sparsely visible areas. In the first stage of the research, which was conducted in May in 2018, 122 children attending kindergartens were examined, with the consent of their parents. The research project has been positively evaluated by the University Bioethics Committee. Not only was the children's ability to differentiate between flat geometric figures, such as a circle, square, rectangle and a triangle examined, but also the pace of their perception. In the research such variables as gender and age were taken

W związku z powyższym postanowiono zbadać poziom aktywności fizycznej dzieci (105 osób) w wieku 3-6 lat uczęszczających do kilku przedszkoli na terenie powiatu bialskiego. Przeprowadzone badania miały charakter pilotażowy i pokazały, że istnieje związek między aktywnością fizyczną dziecka a typem przedszkola i niektórymi indywidualnymi czynnikami. Wnioski z badań udostępniono przedszkolom biorącym udział w projekcie badawczym

Streszczenie: In recent years in Poland, especially since 2002 when Poland joined European Union, the popularity of preschool education has been constantly rising. The proof for such a statement are percentages which indicate that almost 98% of children aged 4-6 have been pre-schooled. In small towns, especially in rural areas, dominate pre-school kindergartens run by the local government; usually there is one large kindergarten in the municipality, there are also small kindergartens called "pre-school points", usually created at primary schools. In turn, the offer of kindergartens in the city compared to the countryside is much richer. It is true that public institutions dominate there which are run by the local authorities, however, there are also numerous non-public kindergartens run by individuals and associations. The education program framework clearly states that all behavioral and educational activities carried out by kindergartens are aimed at supporting the comprehensive development of the child and preparing for primary school. In kindergartens there are created conditions for the implementation of various forms of educational activity of the child, including physical, social, cognitive, and emotional activity. Bearing in mind the psycho-physical development of a young person, especially a pre-school child, attention should be paid to shaping and preserving certain habits related to, for example, hygiene, nutrition, health, aesthetics, physical activity, which will be of great importance in adulthood. The physical activity of a child influences the various parameters of his or her health not only today but also in the future. Specialists pay attention to the relationship between physical activity and the development of motion, body posture, nervous system, respiratory system and vegetative one. Lack of physical activity may lead to both cardiovascular diseases and obesity. These are only a few examples for the need of physical activity in person's life. Bearing in mind the lack of research on this issue, one should assume that there is a reason for doing this type of research. Pilot studies were conducted in Poland in 2017 on the territory of Lubelskie Voivodeship and they are part of a larger research project. The main purpose of the study was to diagnose the level of physical activity of children during the time spent in kindergarten. The level of physical activity of the examined group of children aged 4-6 (120 respondents) was determined by means of special measuring devices so called actigraphs. Children, at the time of the test, were carring for two days actigraphs, which looked like watches and did not make it difficult for them to participate in games and other forms of activities. Thanks to these devices the level of children's activity while staying in the kindergarten was defines precisely. On the basis of collected data, statistical analysis was performed. In the research, two types of tests were used: U Mann-Whitney and Chi s

Streszczenie: The inspiration to present the issue of supporting child development through pre-school education in a comparative sense is the cooperation between two partner universities: Pope John Paul II State School of Higher Education in Biała Podlaska and Lesya Ukrainka Eastern European National University in Lutsk. The territorial location of the mentioned universities lies in the Polish-Ukrainian borderland. Apart from the mentioned borderland, which is a common feature of these two colleges, there are several similarities in pre-school education. According to the commonly available data, children in Poland and Ukraine start their primary education at the age of 6-7. Pre-primary education in these countries is based on curricula approved by the Ministry of Education. However, in Ukraine, there is no obligation for children aged 3 to 5 years to start pre-school education. In turn, six-year-old children in Poland undergo obligatory annual preparation. That is why it is worth conducting the research in order to see the differences in pre-school education that both sides can benefit from. As a result, the research has been undertaken to understand the functioning of the kindergartens in Lutsk, especially in the area of its facilities, equipment, organization of classes, working hours of kindergartens, the number of pre-school children in one group, and teachers' qualifications. This purpose has been expanded on the basis of data from kindergartens located on the territory of Biała Podlaska. The listed research was conducted thanks to the cooperation between these universities and researchers' stay in Ukraine in 2017. Detailed data was collected by conducting individual interviews with teachers working in kindergartens. Conclusions were drawn from the conducted research that could be used in pre-school practice. It should be noted that the presented research problem does not exhaust the fully described issue and will continue in the planned joined project.
