Streszczenie: This article discusses perceptions of World War II in modern American literature. Authors acknowledge novels inspired by their authors' combat, and discuss visions of war, aims of wartime literature and major literary archetypes. Material and methods: The authors analyzed the most popular American novels devoted to the subject of World War II. The analysis covered the visions of war, war literature functions and aims, and major literary archetypes of characters affected by war. Results: Literary visions of war vary considerably between historical, fictive, realistic, non-realistic, humorous or self-critical. Functions of war literature include: glorifying or demystifying war, but also healing both authors and readers. Also, many literary archetypes can be distinguished. Conclusions: War in literature is presented as a time of glory and a catastrophe. Attitudes to war in novels vary from historical to fictive, realistic to non-realistic, or humorous, and some novels glorify war while others condemn it. Literary archetypes also vary considerably.

Streszczenie: W czasie kryzysu zwiększa się presja na pracowników, co prowadzi do potęgowania stresu. Ostatnie lata są tego przykładem - pandemia COVID-19, wojna na Ukrainie, wysoka inflacja wywołały kryzys obecnych czasów. Ogromną rolę w czasie wszelkich kryzysów mają do odegrania pracownicy służb mundurowych. Przedmiotem badań niniejszej pracy jest przedstawienie, jak zjawiska kryzysowe wpływają na stres pracowników. Celem pracy jest opisanie stresu pracowników, szczególnie służb mundurowych, wynikającego z kolejnych fal kryzysowych obejmujących Polskę. W związku z przedmiotem i celem badań zdefiniowano główny problem badawczy, który został wyrażony w postaci pytania: jaki wpływ ma wysoka inflacja, wojna w Ukrainie i pandemia COVID-19 na stres pracowników w pracy i życiu prywatnym? Pogłębienie głównego problemu badawczego wymagało przyjęcia i rozwiązania problemów szczegółowych: 1) Jakie uwarunkowania kryzysu inflacyjnego miały wpływ na stres pracowników?, 2) Jak wojna na Ukrainie oddziałuje na stres w pracy związanej z działaniem infrastruktury krytycznej oraz wojska?, 3) Jaki był negatywny wpływ pandemii COVID-19 na stres pracowników służb mundurowych? Weryfikacji dostępnych materiałów dokonano poprzez analizę i krytykę dostępnej literatury przedmiotu.
Streszczenie: During a crisis, the pressure on employees increases, leading to increased stress. Recent years have been an example of this through high infl ation, the war in Ukraine and the COVID-19 pandemic, which are the crises of the current times. Uniformed services employees have a great role to play during any crises. The subject of this study is to present how crisis phenomena affect the stress of employees. The aim of this work is to present the stress of employees, especially uniformed services, resulting from successive waves of crisis covering Poland. In connection with the subject of the research and the purpose of the research, the main research problem arose, which was expressed in the form of the following question: What is the signifi cance of high inflation, the war in Ukraine and the COVID-19 pandemic on employees' stress at work and in private life? Deepening a specifi c main research problem required the adoption and solution of specific research problems: 1) What conditions of the infl ation crisis had an impact on employees' stress? 2) How does the war in Ukraine aff ect stress at work related to the operation of critical infrastructure? 3) What was the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the stress of uniformed services employees? The available materials wereverified by analyzing and critiquing the available literature on the subject.

Streszczenie: Działania demonstracyjne Sił Zbrojnych Federacji Rosyjskiej przy granicy z Ukrainą na przełomie 2021/2022 r. miały na celu przyjęcie przez władze Ukrainy i USA oraz państw Zachodu rosyjskiego punktu widzenia w rewizji obecnego ładu europejskiego. Przywódca Rosji - Władimir Putin w rozmowach politycznych, w sposób zdecydowanie agresywny żądał uznania proponowanego rosyjskiego porządku w Europie Środkowo-Wschodniej. Zrealizowana przez wiele lat modernizacja organizacyjno-techniczna Sił Zbrojnych Federacji Rosyjskiej pozwalała przypuszczać prezydentowi tego kraju, że Ukraina, USA i państwa Zachodu przestraszą się tej demonstracji siły i zgodzą się na rewizjonistyczne postulaty Rosji. Efekt był odwrotny - Ukraina jak i państwa wspierające ten kraj przygotowywały się na najgorszy wariant - wojnę, dozbrajając oraz szkoląc żołnierzy. W związku z brakiem akceptacji wszystkich zainteresowanych stron prezydent Federacji Rosyjskiej demonstrację siły militarnej zamienił na agresję militarną na Ukrainę 24 lutego 2022 r.
Streszczenie: The demonstration activities of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation at the border with Ukraine at the turn of 2021/2022 were aimed at adopting the Russian point of view in the revision of the current European order by the authorities of Ukraine, the USA and Western countries. Russia's leader, Vladimir Putin, in political talks aggressively demanded recognition of the proposed Russian order in Central and Eastern Europe. The organizational and technical modernization of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, carried out over many years, made it possible for the president of the country to assume that Ukraine, the USA and the Western countries would be afraid of this demonstration of power and would agree to Russia's revisionist demands. The effect was the opposite - Ukraine and the countries supporting this country were preparing for the worst option - war, rearming and training soldiers. Due to the lack of acceptance by all interested parties, the President of the Russian Federation changed the demonstration of military force into military aggression against Ukraine on February 24, 2022.

Streszczenie: W artykule przedstawiono problematykę zagrożenia wschodniej flanki NATO, jakie powstało po wybuchu wojny w Ukrainie. Przedstawiono obecną sytuację geostrategiczną w Europie z uwzględnieniem historycznych i współczesnych uwarunkowań, interesów NATO i Rosji. Następnie omówiono kierunki przemian w polityce Rosji. Podkreślono rolę prezydenta W. Putina, jego mocarstwową wizję Rosji oraz realizację zadań na tej drodze. W materiale przedstawiono krótki rys działań na arenie walki zbrojnej w Ukrainie. W zakończeniu dokonano oceny obecnej sytuacji międzynarodowej, z uwzględnieniem potencjalnego zagrożenia wschodniej flanki NATO oraz stanowiska Sojuszu w kwestii obrony swojego terytorium.
Streszczenie: The article presents the issue of the threat to NATO's eastern flank, which arose after the outbreak of the war in Ukraine. The current geostrategic situation in Europe is presented, taking into account historical and contemporary conditions, interests of NATO and Russia. Next, the directions of changes in Russia's policy were discussed. The role of President Putin, his superpower vision of Russia and the implementation of tasks on this path were emphasized. The material presents a brief outline of activities in the arena of armed struggle in Ukraine. The final assessment of the current international situation was carried out, taking into account the potential threat to NATO's eastern flank and the Alliance's position on the defence of its territory.

Streszczenie: Liczne zagrożenia dla bezpieczeństwa nie mają obiektywnego charakteru, lecz wynikają z działań ludzkich. W przeważającej mierze są one wynikiem ciągłego dążenia do panowania nad innymi. W tym celu ludzie prowadzą wojny, których jedną z form jest wojna informacyjna. W artykule podjęto próbę wyodrębnienia i scharakteryzowania złożoności problematyki współczesnej konfrontacji informacyjnej. Celem niniejszego opracowania jest wskazanie złożoności problematyki odpowiedzialności za bezpieczeństwo w warunkach prowadzonych wojen oraz odpowiedzialności za słowo w kontekście wojny informacyjnej. Wnioski koncentrują się na przyczynach nieefektywności dotychczasowych rozwiązań oraz wizji możliwych zmian systemowych.
Streszczenie: Numerous threats do not have the objective nature, but result from human activities. In the overwhelming part, they are the result of constant efforts to dominate others. For this purpose, pending the war, including information warfare. This article attempts to isolate and characterize the complexity of the contemporary information war and warfare. The purpose of this study is to indicate the complexity of the issue of responsibility for security in conditions of war and responsibility for the word in the context of information warfare. The conclusions concern the reasons of inefficiency of previous solutions and visions of possible systemic changes.

Streszczenie: The article analyzed terrorism as a threat to global security. It was emphasized that this is a historically variable, multi-faceted, dynamic phenomenon that manifests itself in various forms. Being in war with the state and its structures, the war does not take place in the means and the tragic consequences. Although the issue of terrorism is the subject of numerous studies and analyzes, it is often the experts in the subject matter that focus exclusively on the indication of the main reasons for the phenomenon in question. There is, however, no in-depth analysis or attempt to systematise the sources of terrorism in the deliberations on terrorism. In times of conflict, ethnic tensions, ideological and political terrorism began to take on new forms, and also became a way to solve the problems. The effectiveness of the actions taken by terrorist groups is largely dependent on the funds obtained for this purpose. It is worth pointing out that terrorist activity poses a threat not only to the life as well as the property of individual individuals, but as a fundamental issue of the present world, may threaten social order, international relations, and, by means of mass destruction, literally human beings. All this makes the world forced to cooperate on a large scale, because only by swapping information can the terrorists get away. At the same time, cooperation in the field of law, as well as technology exchange, is also desirable. The real means of combating terrorism is to change the world's economic systems, and to create a dignified life for one quarter of humanity and education. For this purpose, it is necessary to mobilize all citizens around the world. Besides, it should go back to the roots of the phenomenon of terrorism and not just "treat" its signs. In today's world, every state must be on guard, because there is no guarantee of security in the future and it is difficult to predict when another terrorist attack will take place. Also Poland, which has so far been free from direct terrorist threats, should be prepared for possible terrorist threats. In the fight against terrorism, the Republic of Poland has acceded to almost all of the United Nations conventions applicable to counteracting this phenomenon. In Polish legislation, specifically in the penal code, there are also provisions that apply to terrorism. In addition, we have a number of legal acts, such as the Act on the Principles of Use or Stay of Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland outside the borders of the country, which contain in their content dispositions applicable to counteracting the phenomenon of terrorism or its aspects. Concluding remarks on terrorism, it should be emphasized that this phenomenon must be taken into account because terrorist groups are not only better organized but also more and more radical. It is therefore important to continue engaging in the presented subject matter, in order to avoid the potentially serious consequences of the terrorist

Streszczenie: In the article, in reference to contemporary definitions of "security" and "international security", the authors state that the definition of "international security" has a very wide range of content, unlike the general notion of "security" or the definition of "national security". Various models based on the definitions characterize the international security models. Based on analysis of the international security threats, including terrorism or cyber threats, it can be shown that for the sake of the modern international security countries should cooperate with each other, since full security is only possible through multilateral action on its behalf. In view of this, the authors present description of institutions responsible for international security in order to focus more specifically on threats to Poland's security, in the light of local conflicts in the 20th and 21st centuries. The current political and military situation in Poland is relatively safe and stable, thanks to cooperation with the West, although this is not a situation which guarantees total security. According to the authors, the possibilities for the potential threat to Poland's security abound. Some of those include the progressive anarchization of the socio-political life in Russia, nuclear weapons, unstable situation in Belarus and Ukraine, but also the growing number of immigrants in Poland in recent years. Poland should not ignore any of the potential security threats, as the strategic position of the country and its political, social and military situation constantly changes. Also, the European Union and its individual members (including Poland since 2004) should be prepared for the possibility of local conflicts that threaten the international and internal security of individual states. The authors of the study emphasize that international security organizations are not able to provide complete security in the world. This is determined by the lack of effective mechanisms for enforcing the provisions of the treaties or growing nationalism or national and religious divisions. The object of interest for these organizations must be the whole world, because it is impossible to predict where a conflict might be triggered. It is impossible to consider the state of international security without resorting to the archaic, fundamental requirements of the individual need for peaceful living, already at the smallest cell of society. The need for security is one of life's necessities, and one could risk the statement that this is the most important value in the human hierarchy. There is no national security if the safety of a single unit fails to meet the necessary values and needs. Only when the guarantee of existence and further development gives the possibility that the individual or the power is secured, consequential following variables are possible. If it meets the basic needs of the human being in the nation, then it is possible to risk the statement that we then
